IET Lucknow Cultural, Sports and Technical Clubs – Campus Experience

The various clubs and societies in a college form a major part of one’s college life. Students build everlasting bonds through clubs as they are communities of like minded people and people with similar interests. More than bonds, students take away uncountable and unforgettable memories from the clubs.

At Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Lucknow, there are clubs to support all interests and work towards an all round development. In fact, all clubs are quite active and create many opportunities for students to realize their talents and pursue new hobbies. Among the prominent clubs are :

  • Mirage – Photography club
  • Kalakriti – Fine arts club
  • Parmarth – Social club
  • Excelsior – Literary club
  • Insaniax – Dance club
  • Swaranjali – Indian music club
  • Auroras – Western music club
  • Josh – Drama club
  • Robotics club
  • Fractal – Coding club
  • Google Developers Students Club
  • Sports club

All cultural clubs remain active throughout the year and organize various events periodically along with active participation in events across the country. The highlight of the campus, I must say, is Fractal – the coding club. Something unique which I appreciate here is that sophomores conduct periodic lectures to teach freshers the basics of coding and guide them the right way to being amazing tech enthusiasts. Apart from the coding club, Parmarth – the social club is also the highlight. The club conducts daily classes to teach the children from slums the very basics. The children are divided into groups and are taught primary and junior school concepts in the lecture halls of the college. The club also conducts various drives to help the needy.

Each club organizes their auditions during the second semester of the freshers in order to let talented freshers into the clubs.I auditioned for the music clubs. The supportive seniors encouraged me to perform my best. The fact that they supported not just talented individuals but also the ones who wished to learn music or were inclined towards music were also entertained in the auditions and guided, really impressed me.

I am really grateful to have gotten selected in the club and I look forward to building bonds and creating unforgettable memories which I’ll cherish forever. I would advise all the students to never miss an opportunity to get into clubs. Explore yourself, and push your boundaries. You might develop a new hobby, passion or even a career you had not foreseen.
