VGSOM (IIT Kharagpur) Admission Experience
This was a virtual interview due to the Covid-19 induced lockdown. It was a pretty smooth experience and was well-managed. I was assigned Panel 5 for the interview. I joined a bit early at the given link and the interview started at the scheduled time.
Date: 17/05/2020 (10:30 AM -11 AM slot)
Profile: 10/12/Grad: 88/80/84, GEM (BTech, CSE, 22 months IT Experience)
CAT Percentile: 97.8
Written Aptitude Test: This was not there since the process was virtual.
Personal Interview: 2 panelists, both male
panelists: Questions about my home place
Answeres but fumbled on a few questions
M1: Traffic management in my city
Answered to my satisfaction
M2: Questions on academics:
How will you increase the efficiency of the supply chain through technology?
Me: Told, should have done better probably
Have you heard about computational analytics? (Don’t remember the question correctly)
What is caching?
Me: Told
Where is cache memory located?
Me: Told
Where is the password which we use to log in to the PC stored?
Me: Told but wasn’t too sure
How will you improve the ‘Digital Divide’?
Me: Told
Do you know WHO’s director-general?
Me: Couldn’t tell.
Who is Tedros Adhanom?
Me: Still couldn’t tell. Was an embarrassing moment considering WHO was all over the news at that time.
Lasted for about 15-20 mins.
Overall, a good experience but should have done better, especially on the last question
Verdict: Waitlisted at 130, which didn’t convert. WL moved till 88
