IIT Kharagpur Hackathon Experience

I have won the first prize at the Code the Problem hackathon in the Fugacity’23 festival of the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur!

As a solo participant, it was a challenging yet rewarding experience to compete against numerous teams in the Chemical Coding Challenge. The two rounds were equally engaging and tested my skills in different areas. In the first round, I was tasked with figuring out how the concentration of the substance changes over time on the surface of the biosensor and plotting the results as a graph. It was fascinating to explore how this information can be utilized to optimize the detection of substances accurately.

The second round was equally intriguing as I studied the flow pattern and temperature distribution inside a droplet sitting on a heated surface. Using numerical modelling and considering basic conservation equations, the code rendered the velocity field and temperature profile of the droplet for different volumes and wall temperatures. I used mathematical functions of Scipy and Numpy libraries, differential calculus, Seaborn, and Mathplotlib libraries to visualize the results and plot curves and graphs.
