UNESCO Members
Members of UNESCO are countries that have joined and become part of the organization. They work together to support its goals, and initiations in the areas of education, science, culture, and communication. Being a member of the organization allows us to collaborate, show ideas, and address global challenges to promote peace & mutual understanding among nations. At present UNESCO has 195 members and 12 associate members. Palestine became the 195th full member of UNESCO as the the organization defied a mandated cutoff of American funding and approved the Palestinian bid for full membership by a vote of 107 members.
