71st Constitution Day of India
71st Constitution Day was celebrated on 26th November 2020 in the whole country. High Commission of India celebrated the 71st Constitution Day of India on 26th November 2020. The Prime Minister of India led the nation at 1100 hours Indian Standard Time (IST) in reading the Preamble of the Constitution. High Commissioner Mr. Ajay Bisaria led the reading of the Preamble by the officials of the Mission. He emphasized the importance of following, in letter and spirit, the noble ideals and basic principles laid down in the Preamble which is a brief introductory statement to the Indian Constitution outlining its aims and objectives. The Preamble declares India to be a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, and Democratic Republic.

The Constitution came into force on 26 January 1950. Constitution Day is also known as the ‘Samvidhan Divas‘.
