The J.P. Morgan Quant Challenge is typically conducted in two rounds:
Online round
The online round of the J.P. Morgan Quant Challenge typically consists of a set of programming problems that need to be solved within a stipulated time frame. The problems may be based on any of the three sections of the competition: Algorithmic Programming, Data Science & Machine Learning, Derivative Modelling and are designed to test the participants’ skills in problem-solving, coding, and data structures.
Tips to succeed in this round:
- Start practicing early since first round is highly competitive.
- Focus on accuracy and speed because the questions are to be solved in a particular time period.
Onsite round
The onsite round of the J.P. Morgan Quant Challenge is typically more challenging than the online round. The participants are given a complex problem. Candidates need to solve and present their solution to a panel of judges. The problem is generally a case study, a research paper, or a simulation. The judges will evaluate the participants on their problem-solving skills, their ability to communicate their ideas clearly and concisely, and their knowledge of quantitative finance.

- Be confident and try to answer in a simple way.
- Focus on your soft skills as well as hard skills.
