Installation of  Slack as a Snap Package
Microsoft distributes and maintains the Slack snap package. Snaps are self-contained software packages that include the binary as well as all of the applicationâs dependencies. Upgrades are simple and secure with Snap packaging.
Snaps, unlike ordinary deb packages, have a bigger disc footprint and take longer to start up.Snap packages can be installed using the Ubuntu Software program or the command line.
Open your terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and type the following command to install the Slack snap:
sudo snap install slack --classic
That is all there is to it. Slack has been installed on your Ubuntu desktop and is ready to use. The Slack snap package will be automatically updated in the background whenever a new version is released.
Launch the client from the menu once the installation is complete.
