Circulatory System Characteristics
Here are some major features of the circulatory system as mentioned below.
- The human circulatory system includes four major components i.e. blood, the heart, blood vessels, and lymph.
- It works with two loops. One loop is for for oxygenated blood and another one for deoxygenated blood.
- The heart has four chambers including the two ventricles and two auricles.
- There is a vast network of blood vessels throughout the body that consists of the arteries, veins, and capillaries.
- The vessels carry out the oxygen and nutrients to the whole body parts and remove waste materials.
- If we lay out all the veins, arteries, and capillaries of a human body, it will cover around 100,000 kilometers. It is about eight times the Earth’s diameter.

The Circulatory System Diagram shows the heart, blood vessels, and organs working together to carry blood throughout the body. Arteries carry blood away from the heart whereas veins carry blood back to the heart. The circulatory system carries oxygen, essential nutrients, and hormones to cells. Contrary, it removes the waste products from the blood. In this article, we will learn about the human circulatory system with the help of a circulatory system diagram.
