The two countries established a $50 million agricultural fund in 2008 with an emphasis on micro-irrigation, dairy, and farming technology. This was the Indo-Israel Agricultural Project. By March 2014, ten centers of excellence with Israeli technological expertise were operating throughout India, providing farmers with free instruction on effective farming methods. The centers taught a variety of topics, including soil solarization, drip irrigation, and vertical farming. Citrus fruits, tomatoes, pomegranates, and mangoes are the main crops farmed at these centers.
