Luffy;s fight with Charlotte Katakuri is still one of the greatest fight sequences in the series. This fight really humbled the Strawhat Pirates and showed them how formidable some of their enemies are. Luffy was no match for Big Mom’s second son and would have died. The fight went on for twelve hours and three episodes. And it ended with both the characters learning to respect one another.
Charlotte Katakuri’s Mochi Mochi no Mi powers are very similar to Luffy’s Hito Hito No Mi’s abilities which made the fight twice as intense as it already was. And Katakuri’s advanced foresight Haki was an obstacle Luffy was unable to overcome. The fight was full of ups and downs and twists and turns that had the audience hold their breath.
