JavaScript RegExp i Modifier

The RegExp i Modifier in JavaScript is used to perform case-insensitive matching in the string. 

Syntax: 

/regexp/i 

or

new RegExp("regexp", "i")

Example 1: This example matches the word “Beginner” or “Beginner” (case insensitive) and displays it.

function geek() {
    let str1 = "w3wiki is the computer "
        + "science portal for Beginner.";
    let regex4 = /geek/gi;
    let match4 = str1.match(regex4);
 
    console.log("Found " + match4.length
        + " matches: " + match4);
}
geek();


Output

Found 3 matches: Geek,geek,geek

Example 2: This example matches the word “Beginner” or “Beginner” (case insensitive) and replaces it with “Beginner”.

    let replace = "Beginner";
    let match4 = str1.replace(regex4, replace);

 New string: w3wiki is the computer science portal for Beginner.
