Fanatics Interview Experience for SWE -1(On-Campus) 2022
Fanatics visited my college for a Software Engineer full-time role in November 2022.
Round 1 (Online Assessment-1hr 30 min): 60 students were shortlisted for this test as the drive is only for CSE students. This round was conducted on the Hacker Earth platform, which consisted of 13 questions out of which 10 were MCQs and 3 coding Questions.
MCQs were mainly based on time complexity, Computer Organization, Data structures, Algorithms, and DBMS. The level of MCQs was Medium. The coding questions are levels of 1 easy,1 medium, and 1 hard. I was able to solve 1 easy and 6/11 test cases of the medium problem. The hard question was based on trees.
Round 2 (Technical Interview – 1hr): 13 students were shortlisted for this round. The interview was scheduled for the duration of 1 hr but my interview ended up in 35 mins. 4 panelists were there.
- The 1st panelist began asking me questions without any self-introduction.
- What is a stack?
- What is a queue?
- Stack vs Queue?
- Implement a queue using the minimum number of stacks. I gave an approach using 2 stacks. Some of my friends were asked to tell all approaches.https://www.w3wiki.net/queue-using-stacks/
- The 2nd panelist
- Which data structure is best to implement undo and redo operations?
- Find the middle element in the Linked List. I gave both approaches using count and slow-fast pointers.https://www.w3wiki.net/write-a-c-function-to-print-the-middle-of-the-linked-list/
- The 3rd panelist was just listening to all my approaches.
- The 4th panelist
- Next greater element. I gave a brute-force approach (O(N*2)). He asked me to optimize and gave a hint to use the stack. I was able to give the most optimized approach (O(N)).https://www.w3wiki.net/next-greater-element/
- Add 1 to the linked list representing a number. https://www.w3wiki.net/add-1-number-represented-linked-list/
- Asked if I had any questions for them, (I asked 2 questions) later they asked me to name the recent movie which I watched.
HR Round(20 min): For all 13 candidates.
- Tell me about yourself and your family.
- Hobbies?
- Have you ever felt alone?
- Any situation where you helped someone?
- Do you have any previous offers?
- Are you willing to relocate?
Based on the Technical Round and HR Round, 3 students out of 13 got selected and I was happy to be one among them.
