C-CAT Exam Experience
C-DAC stands for Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, India. I decided to do C-DAC after my engineering. It is a 6-month course. For selection into the C-DAC institute, we have to take the C-CAT exam
Eligibility Criteria for the PG-DAC course :
- should be a graduate in engineering or
- MCA, MCM, or
- Post Graduate Degree in Physics/ Mathematics / Statistics, or
- Post Graduate Degree in Management with graduation in IT / Computer Science / Computer Applications.
- candidate must score a minimum of 50% in the C-CAT exam
Entrance Examination:
Students need to take the C-CAT exam to go into C-DAC.
Competitive Exam Experience:
The C-CAT examination mainly consists of Aptitude, Computer and Electronics fundamentals.
The c-CAT exam comprises three sections-
- The first part is Aptitude,
- The second part is – Computer Fundamentals and
- The third part is related to Electronics. In this, the third part is optional and those who want to register for PG-DESD have to give the third section also.
Each section has 50 questions and the time limit for each section is 1 hour.
So a total of 50*3=150 questions and 1*3 = 3 hours for the exam.
Exam Duration : 3 hours
No. of Questions: 150
Total Marks: 450 (150 marks for each section)
Marking Scheme: Negative marking is there. For every correct answer +3 marks and -1 for every wrong answer.

- “A Modern Approach to Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning” by R.S. Aggarwal
- “Data Structures and Algorithms” by Narasimha Karumanchi
I also took some of the mock tests online.
Result:
I cleared the C-CAT exam with a good rank. I got admission to one of the best colleges of C-DAC that is C-DAC Knowledge Park, Bangalore.
