PRISM: Unveiling the spectrum of Innovation

Being a member of the Techfest PRISM 2024 organization team was an indescribable experience because it was full of obstacles, education, and many unforgettable moments. As the event’s content writer, I experienced everything that happened by being there.

It was not an ordinary tech fest, TECHFEST PRISM. It was the first of its kind in all colleges in Lucknow. This Techfest was a two-day event that occurred on the 8th and 9th of April 2024 in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology in the New Campus of the University of Lucknow. The event saw every department (Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Civil) hold its own set of quizzes and competitions to mark the technical brilliance that our city has.

What distinguishes PRISM from other such occasions is its universality. It was not meant for only those who know computer science well or are good at mechanics. Rather it catered for individuals with a passion for technology and innovation. From coding contests to robotics exhibitions; PRISM had something for anyone who visited it.

These seminars formed the core of PRISM. The scope of seminars was so wide with representations from industry giants like Quadrant and GitHub, and tech gurus such as Postman. They were more than just technical education; they were about motivating the young generation to become innovators or solvers of puzzles.

One talk that stood out was the one held by GitHub. The speaker who happened to be a seasoned GitHub expert shared his ordeal, and how he dealt with the situations and overcame them all. His story demonstrated that persistence pays and advised that it is always good to hold on to your dreams.

The event was a major function that exhibited the best from the departments like Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Civil. Every department had its quizzes, thus, each of them was competitive, which in turn generated a competitive atmosphere that was electrifying.

We, too, had a collection of enlightening seminars from successful people in the industry. They illustrated the usage of tools like GitHub, Postman, and Quadrant, to cite a few. These seminars were not just informational but also interactive, hence, the audience was always involved in the discussion.

It was not all monotonous work and no fun. We organized a bunch of fun activities such as “Octa Cat” and ” Snap It”, and a special “After the Movie” session to make sure we stayed excited.

Moreover, the icing on the cake is the fact that many vehicles have found hidden spots for parking, resulting in the lack of any available parking lots in public places. The winners were given splendid wigs by our respected, Dean, Prof. Ashok Kumar Singh. The happiness and the feeling of the winners on their faces were priceless.

Organizing this event was not without its difficulties. Working together with various colleges, managing different activities, and coordinating a diverse range of events on campus – was an uphill task. However, our committed team worked together and we conquered every obstacle one at a time.

But then again seeing the enthusiasm on their faces, hearing their questions eager to learn more new things reminded us why we did what we had done in organizing this conference. It was a revelation of why we were embarking on this – to build a platform for young people to exhibit their abilities and to motivate them to aspire to the sky.

Writing for such a big event was both exciting and difficult. It was a difficult task for me to decide between the technical aspects and the overall experience of the event, as a result, I had to balance between them. I had to make sure that the content was lively, educative and most importantly, aimed towards our intended audience – B. Tech and technical course students, and all the tech people out there.

In general, TECHFEST PRISM 2024 was an event that had all the essentials – knowledge, competition, fun, and to top it off, it was a platform for tech enthusiasts to showcase their skills. It was a feeling that I will be able to remember for a lifetime.

Thus, if you are a tech lover or a student who wants to display your talents on a larger scale, watch out for the next TECHFEST PRISM. It is a chance you will not regret to have!
