My Journey of Perseverance From NDA Aspirant to B.Tech Student

When I was in the 12th standard, the dream of joining the National Defence Academy (NDA) captured my imagination. The NDA examination, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), stood as a formidable challenge. Motivated by a strong desire to serve my country, I decided to dive headfirst into the rigorous preparation required for this prestigious exam.

First Attempt: The Initial Setback

I poured my heart and soul into my preparation for the first attempt. Long hours of study, countless practice papers, and an unwavering focus characterized my efforts. However, despite my hard work, I couldn’t clear the written examination. The disappointment was overwhelming—I cried and felt utterly distressed. It seemed so unfair that all my dedication hadn’t yielded the desired result.

Second Attempt: Learning from Mistakes

Determined not to let one failure define my future, I began preparing for the second attempt. This time, I focused on identifying and rectifying my mistakes. I analyzed what went wrong in my first attempt and adjusted my study strategy accordingly. My hard work paid off, and I successfully cleared the written examination on my second attempt. It was a moment of triumph, but the journey was far from over.

First SSB Interview: Another Hurdle

With the written exam behind me, I moved on to the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview. The SSB is known for its rigorous evaluation process, and I was eager yet anxious. On the first day of the SSB interview, I faced another setback—I got screened out. The rejection stung, but it also fueled my determination to try again.

Third Attempt: Persistence Pays Off

Undeterred, I cleared the NDA written exam once more and headed to the SSB interview for a second time. I had introspected deeply, worked on my weaknesses, and prepared myself thoroughly. However, I was conference out at the end of the interview process. This second rejection was painful, but it also became a testament to my resilience.

A New Path: Embracing B.Tech

With my NDA attempts exhausted, I shifted my focus to pursuing a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech). I applied the same competitive spirit and disciplined approach that I had developed during my NDA preparations to my engineering studies. This time, my efforts bore fruit, yielding better results and a sense of accomplishment.

Reflections: Growth Through Struggle

The journey through my competitive exams was fraught with challenges and failures. Each setback felt like a heavy blow, and there were times when I felt utterly dejected. However, these experiences taught me invaluable lessons in perseverance, self-reflection, and hard work. The disappointments I faced in the NDA attempts became stepping stones to personal growth and academic success in my B.Tech journey.

Now, as I continue to give my 100% in my B. Tech studies, I carry forward the lessons learned from my competitive exams. The failures no longer seem like dead ends but rather crucial turning points that have shaped my determination and resilience. My story is one of struggle, but also one of unwavering perseverance and the relentless pursuit of my dreams.
