My Journey of JEE Preparation From Kota to IIT Delhi

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is one of the most challenging exams in India, which determines the fate of aspiring engineering students seeking admission into prestigious institutes such as Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institute of Technology (NITs), and other centrally funded technical universities across the country. Achieving a high rank in the JEE is a dream for many aspiring engineers in India. My journey towards securing an AlR below 1000 in JEE Advanced and below 3000 in JEE Mains was marked by dedication, hard work, and a structured approach to my studies. In this blog post, I will share my experience preparing for JEE, from choosing the right coaching centre to securing ranks in these competitive exams.

The Beginning: Enrolling in a Coaching Centre

After completing my 12th Class from Rajasthan Board. I decided to start my JEE preparation for the next year. After researching various options available in different cities, I decided to pursue my preparation at Resonance Classes in Kota. This reputed coaching institute offered excellent faculty members experienced in teaching engineering entrance exams and provided quality infrastructure equipped with state-of-the-art technology and classrooms. The environment in Kota, surrounded by like-minded aspirants, created a sense of competition and motivation that pushed me to strive for excellence every single day.

The Study Materials: Books That Guided My Preparation

Choosing the right study materials was pivotal in my preparation. Most of the time, my focus was on the sheets and DPPs (Daily Practice problems) which were provided by Resonance Classes, Kota. Believe me, these sheets and DPPs of Resonance are of top quality and enough for a good rank in both JEE mains and Advanced.

Since I had free time after solving the study material provided by my coaching, I also relied on a mix of standard textbooks and reference books for a deep understanding of concepts and extensive practice.

Physics:

For Physics, I primarily referred to “Concepts of Physics” by H.C. Verma, which helped in building a strong conceptual foundation. Additionally, “Problems in General Physics” by I.E. Irodov was invaluable for solving complex problems and honing my problem-solving skills.

Chemistry:

For chemistry, I followed the below books:

  • Organic Chemistry: M S Chouhan by Arihant Publications
  • Physical Chemistry: N Avasthi by Arihant Publications
  • Inorganic Chemistry: NCERT

Mathematics:

For advanced-level problems, I followed the “Black Book -Advanced Problems in Mathematics” by Arihant Publications.

The Importance of Mock Tests

Mock tests played a crucial role in my preparation strategy. The coaching centre conducted regular mock tests that simulated the actual JEE environment. These tests were instrumental in helping me manage time efficiently, identify my weak areas, and understand the pattern of questions. Analyzing the results of each mock test allowed me to fine-tune my preparation and focus on improving my weaknesses.

The Final Result: Securing a Seat at IIT Delhi

The hard work paid off when I secured a decent rank in JEE Advanced. These ranks opened the doors to some of the premier engineering institutes in India, and I eventually decided to join IIT Delhi, one of the most prestigious institutions in the country.

In retrospect, my journey to IIT Delhi was a blend of disciplined preparation, the right guidance from my coaching centre, strategic use of study materials, and consistent practice through mock tests. The experience not only prepared me academically but also instilled in me the virtues of perseverance and resilience.

To all JEE aspirants, I would like to say that success in these exams is a result of sustained effort and smart preparation. Stay focused, use the right resources, and most importantly, believe in yourself. The journey might be challenging, but the destination is certainly worth all the hard work.
