My Journey of Decisions and Discoveries

Hello! Thanks for reading this blog.

Sometimes the decisions we make for the time being might make us feel that we made the correct decision but in future, we will come across a scenario that makes us wonder about past decisions. Is it correct or not? And makes the person regret it. So please try to learn from others’ mistakes this changes our lives.

2020 most of the students would not forget that year because that year most of the students passed without getting an opportunity to write the exams but I belonged to the ICSE stream out of 10 subjects I wrote 6 exams and the remaining 4 subjects were cancelled due to covid pandemic so previously I told about decision right, here comes the story. In 8th std, we are given elective subjects to choose either “Home science” or “computer science“.Most of my friends already knew the CS subject would be hard we all opted for home science. Besides the subject being hard and lack of proper assistance regarding the subject was also another reason. Finally 10th results came I was happy with my result I got 92.66% because at that age only I had clarity that marks alone cant decide my life. But till now whenever ever 10th results are declared my near and dear ones will just tell a dialogue “You would have got a much better % if you wrote the remaining exams too”.Whenever I hear this statement I have no answer because I am happy that at least I got a chance to write a few exams many students did not get that chance.

I just want to say “Whenever you are doing a thing hit hard so that no one else can do better than you” and don’t give any chance to anyone so that they can point out you.

Later I got into MPC one of the top colleges in the city successfully wasted 2 years and finally landed up with the worst percentile in JEE. From the beginning, I had no hopes of getting into NITs or IITs but knew the reality that it is impossible to get a B.TECH seat by spending lakhs and lakhs. After writing the 1st attempt at JEE, I understood where my knowledge was, so I started preparing for EAPCET. I already know that I am strong in maths but weak in physics. So I mostly concentrated on the previous year’s question. Struggled for 20 days. Then wrote the exam. After a few days, I took exams at two top universities and both of the universities offered scholarships but I was not interested in them. I like to test my skills.

The EAPCET key was released and I got 68 marks that was a nightmare for my loved ones they started telling me that would land up with a rank of the population of the district. I saw many YouTube videos that told me the range of the rank might be between 30k-40k. Till the results came I was so insulted and all of us had no hopes of getting a decent rank and finally landed up with 9943 rank.

Here I can’t say rank is not important because if we are not financially strong and also have no good rank then we have to compromise either with the branch or the college or sometimes both. This one exam can be a game changer for the rest of your life. Many of my friends were not interested in their branch but had no option but to go with that spending 4 years with a lot of dissatisfaction results in failure.

So it is better to be in a position where you have multiple options to choose from.

Finally, I landed up in a college which I did not love but also had no hatred and the result of the decisions which I took would be given in a near feature that tells whether my decisions were correct or not.

One thing I learnt coming to B.TECH life is that “skill and real-time experiences are required more than having the bookish knowledge”.

Good luck

Thank you
