Marwadi University Rajkot Journey As A Computer Engineer

Hello guys,

I want to share something regarding our college journey as a computer engineering student. I am pursuing B.TECH at Marwadi University Rajkot, Gujarat. When I joined college as a CS student I was new to this technology world. I did not have any computer knowledge. So I seek guidance from many people but all of them give their specific advice which makes me more confused. So today I will not share my journey but I will share a journey through which all CS students pass. Here I will share 2 of your journeys that all students must follow. The path can be separated.

Firstly when we join our college we have to learn a programming language, which can be any but the most recommended is C language. Learning c is not a lengthy process. Hardly it will take 15 – 20 days. I will recommend a YouTube video of Apna College for C language (one short video of 10 hours). Then starts our actual journey. We have to start competitive programming using C. Here we should start with hackerRank, CodeChef and GFG. Throughout the first semester, we have to master all string and array problems on different platforms. As you gain confidence you have to start leetcode.

Then in the second semester, you have to learn a language with OOP concepts. You can either go with C++, Java or Python. Anyone is best. After learning OOP you start learning Data structure and practising it. It is not an overnight process to practise Data structure you have to regularly solve 2-3 questions every day.

In the third semester, you should start learning development. You must start with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Also, make some frontend Projects. Along with this also regularly solve 1-2 questions of Data structure every day.

Then in 4th semester, you should start learning the MEARN stack. MEARN means MongoDB, express, angular, react. After doing this you will be a full-stack developer. And start preparing full-stack projects. Along with this also regularly solve 1-2 questions of Data structure every day.

In this way, you will master the following things.

• Competitive programming
• Data Structure
• Full stack

It is enough to secure a well-paid job. After 2nd year you can start preparing for GATE, applying for an internship, gain knowledge in a specific domain.
