What is Optane Memory?
Optane Memory is a technology developed by Intel, designed to act as a high-speed bridge between your computer’s RAM and storage, such as a hard drive (HDD) or solid-state drive (SSD). It uses Intel’s 3D XPoint technology, which is significantly faster and more durable than traditional NAND flash storage used in SSDs. Optane Memory modules typically come in the M.2 form factor and are used in both consumer and enterprise-level devices to accelerate computer performance.
The Optane system is “only” 85 percent faster than the hard drive alone while considering the large files.
What is Optane Memory? Comparison with SSD and RAM
Optane memory is a new type of computer memory that can significantly reduce boot times and boost system performance in desktop PCs and laptops. Optane Memory is a non-volatile memory that acts as an interface between a computer’s random access memory (RAM) and its hard drive (HDD) or solid-state drive (SSD). In this article, we are going to discuss optane memory.
