Vishnu Deo Sai Political Career
Vishnu Deo Sai, a three-time head of the BJP’s Chhattisgarh unit, has demonstrated organizational prowess, earning trust from the central leadership. He ascended within the party ranks and became a member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first Council of Ministers in 2014. Known for his closeness to former Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh, Sai was first elected as an MLA in 1990 from Tapkara (Jashpur district) in Madhya Pradesh, securing the seat again in the 1993 assembly polls.

Vishnu Deo Sai, a tribal veteran leader, and union Minister has been selected for the position of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister by BJP(Bharatiya Janata Party) officially after Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly elections conducted on Nov 7, 2023,
This decision was taken in the meeting of the Group of newly-elected MLAs according to the guidance issued by PM of India, Narendra Modi’s idea of representing a tribal leader as Chief Minister of the Chhattisgarh state for the majority of the tribal population of the state.
He belongs to the Kanwar(or) Kawar tribe, a tribal community, predominantly located in Chhattisgarh & central India. The Kanwar tribe is designated as an ST category in the state.
