1. Website’s homepage

As we have discussed earlier, the homepage is usually located in the domain name or subdomain. When you enter the URL in URL bar of any web browser you are directed to the homepage of the particular website. Let’s take the example of w3wiki, and access it’s home page.

On your web browser’s URL bar type www.w3wiki.org

This will take us to the w3wiki Home page shown in the picture below

  • Now suppose, we go to the Jobs Section in the website, your URL looks like https://www.w3wiki.org/gfg-hiring-solutions-for-recruiters/?ref=ghm
  • Now to get back to the home page you simply remove everything after the first “/” and make it as https://www.w3wiki.org/
  • Now press ENTER and you will be redirected to the Homepage of GFG.
  • Now for most of the well designed websites, you don’t need to do all these things to get back to the homepage, just click on the website’s icon shown and you will be re-directed to the Homepage of that website.

2. Browser Homepage:

As you are defining homepage as the initial page we see when start the service, the page we see after opening a web browser is also known as a homepage. It provides search option, URL option and gives us insides about our browsing. We can see bookmarked webpages, most visited sites on the browser homepage. We can even customize the browser homepage as per our requirements. Browser homepage is used by most of us just to get out of a webpage or to visit a new site.
