Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (FCA, now the Stellantis group), basically, was an international corporation, which is known worldwide as a provider of high-quality automobiles and commercially-oriented vehicles, auto parts, and production systems. At that time, the automotive plant, which produced the world’s eighth-biggest car, was abroad.
Today, the largest American car manufacturer Chrysler might be better known by something else: Stellantis NV or STLA, a conglomerate based in the Netherlands, is the name that is used by some Americans in everyday conversations, starting Jan. 16, 2021. By then, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Peugeot Group, the owner of the Peugeot car brand, were merged officially. Till 2019 these plans were in motion that but due to pandemic they are delayed, this pandemic prolongs the merger as well.
This holding company was in the form of the New York Stock Exchange as well as in the Borsa Italiana. Exor, an Italian investment group controlled by the Agnelli family owned 29% of FCA and exercised virtual control of 44% through the mechanism of the outstanding voting rights system, the most important piece of the block of shares.
