The movie is based on the recent college graduate Jaime Reyes who comes back to his family with a bag full of dreams he has for the future. Only when he comes back home, he figures out that nothing seems to be the same. Unaware of what’s unusual, Jamie suddenly gets possessed by the Scarab, an ancient relic of alien biotechnology. Following this unexpected possession, Jamie finds himself equipped with armor that has surprisingly exceptional powers. That’s how a young boy full of aspirations unexpectedly turns into the Superhero, Blue Beetle.

Moreso, the newly introduced hero is shown adapting to this extraordinary shift in his world. The vicious antagonist of the movie targets Jaime/ Blue Beetle’s family in order to leave the protagonist vulnerable. The gutsy hero, on the other hand, can be seen giving his all to protect them sparking the light of thrilling action between Blue Beetle and the villain in the movie.

The movie also contains the original comic references, including Sarandon’s Victoria Lord, sister to Ted Kord, previously Blue Beetle. The Kord Industries CEO, surely enough, didn’t find the scarab bonding with Jamie very pleasurable and embarked on a hunt to take it from Jamie.

What sets the film apart is the support Jaime receives from his family from the start of his transformation into Blue Beetle, unlike, other superhero movies, where the protagonist can be seen hiding his powers from his family.
