Result Day

Two weeks later, they sent an Excel sheet listing those who were selected for the core team. Unfortunately, I was not selected. It was another setback for me, but I didn’t lose hope. I improved myself and applied for various other interviews. Eventually, I was selected as the content writing lead in the SCRS club at our university. My advice to you guys is to never lose hope until you win. If I had stopped applying, I wouldn’t have become a lead.

Remember, if you get rejected, it means you deserve more than what you aimed for. So, don’t lose hope, enjoy the journey, and don’t focus too much on the result.

Thank you.

GDSC Journey As A Content Writer

Hello guys,

A warm welcome to all! In this blog, I will share my first interview experience as a content writer with GDSC KARE. Through this, I will explain how I got into the core team, what I did before the interview, and how I performed in front of the recruiters. I hope you all enjoy this.

Let’s start…

It was a company interview for a GDSC core team member position at Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, where I am pursuing my BTech in CSE. On this occasion, I want to share what I did before the interview process.

I still remember those days because I stepped out of my comfort zone and did various things. I created my first resume, but it did not look good. Previously, I did not know how to create a resume or what to include in it. Afterwards, my friend told me that I needed to include some projects to improve my chances of getting selected. However, I didn’t know how to create projects or where to start.

Before that, let me explain how I became interested in content writing. From childhood, I could write in my own words and participated in many competitions, winning prizes. However, in the 12th standard, my teacher advised me to stop writing stories and focus only on the content in the textbook to get good marks. This discouraged me from writing creatively. After completing school, I had five months before starting college, so I researched and found that there were roles in IT for content writers. I was very interested but didn’t know where to start.

After the holidays, I started my higher studies at the university, where I discovered the vast opportunities available for content writing. During the second semester, one of my English faculty members asked me to meet him in his cabin. He told me that I wrote very good stories in my answer sheets, and although I didn’t perform well in the exams, he encouraged me to continue writing and gave me valuable suggestions. This boosted my confidence and made me dive deeper into content writing roles.

After completing the first year, I got the opportunity to attend an interview for content writing roles at our university. I was so excited when my resume was shortlisted, and I received the call for the interview.

Interview Day:

I was extremely nervous but told myself not to lose hope because I had the talent. When they called my name, I went and sat in front of the panel of recruiters. The first question they asked was to introduce myself. After my introduction, they asked why I wanted to be a member of GDSC KARE. I replied that I had the knowledge and skills but didn’t know how to showcase them. I saw this as an opportunity to showcase my skills to the world. They then asked about the projects I had worked on, and I mentioned that I had written more than two articles published on Google Blog Post. The interview lasted for 15 minutes, and then they asked me to leave....
