Non-profit Organizations Collaborating with Colleges for Scholarships

Here, we will highlight eight remarkable groups committed to excellence in education, diversity in leadership, and equity in access to higher education.

Equal Opportunity Schools

EOS aims to place every student in a rigorous but enriching course. Helping high school teachers have one-on-one conversations with students about extracurricular activities and advanced placement (AP) classes is a primary goal of the group. The number of students enrolling in advanced courses through EOS’s partnered schools has increased by two or three. Academic challenge helps students realize their full potential and motivates them to strive for greater things.

MDRC

They create and test solutions for low-income families, children, and individuals. MDRC, a nonprofit with East and West Coast offices, aims to do that. Beyond students, the organization’s reach does extend. Students can learn how to make the most of their federal student aid through their Aid Like a Paycheck program, which they run with TICAS.

The Education Trust

Low-income and minority students benefit from EdTrust’s educational equity. Teachers, students, parents, lawmakers, and community leaders reform education with them. Services that are data-centred, student-focused, and driven by equality are also something they boast about. Opportunity gaps are examined and worked to close by EdTrust by analyzing local, state, and national data.

QuestBridge

The mission of QuestBridge is to transform the way colleges seek out and enrol bright, low-income students. Programs, scholarships, and connections are just a few ways they help students succeed. QuestBridge’s National College Match targets high school seniors. It allows low-income students to apply to top universities and receive financial aid. Juniors can benefit from the College Prep Scholarship when applying to colleges.

National College Access Network (NCAN)

To help states, schools, businesses, nonprofits, and philanthropists improve educational opportunities for students from low-income and minority backgrounds, NCAN employs four strategies. Ensuring that individuals who assist students have the proper training and knowledge is a key component of their capacity-building strategy. To better track, compare, and enhance development, NCAN uses benchmarking to standardize data. Supporting higher rates of postsecondary completion is a goal of collective impact.

iMentor

This group in New York City pairs mentors with mentees from low-income neighbourhoods. They hope to provide students with the tools they need to succeed academically in high school, enrol in and complete college, and realize their dreams. Through one-on-one meetings (in person or online), students and mentors build rapport, spark interest in higher education, and help students through the application process—matches between mentors and mentees typically last for three or four years. Even in the first year of university, students can stay in touch with their mentors, and there’s an option to continue the relationship to graduation.

Pursuing higher studies is sometimes considered to be a cornerstone of personal and professional development, but the increasing expenses associated with it often become a problem. It is fortunate that, understanding this challenge and the significance of investing in education, a lot of companies are coming forward to provide scholarships so that the students can continue their studies without any hassle. With these scholarships, the companies not only offer economic support but also encourage talent recognition and academic merit.
