Muslims and Marginalization
Muslims in India, who account for around 14% of the population, experience different kinds of marginalization. Socially, they face discrimination, hate speech, and communal violence. Economic inequality exists as a result of limited access to education and work opportunities. Politically, they are underrepresented, which restricts effective campaigning. Legal obstacles particularly contentious legislation such as the Citizenship Amendment Act, increase their isolation. To address these difficulties, it is necessary to respect constitutional ideals of equality and secularism, as well as to ensure inclusion and empowerment for a more equitable society.
