Travis Michael Kelce and Jason Daniel Kelce were born and raised in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Jason, the older of the two, was born on November 5, 1987, while Travis was born two years later on October 5, 1989. The brothers grew up in a sports-loving family, with their parents, Ed and Donna Kelce, playing a significant role in fostering their athletic talents.
From an early age, both brothers showed a keen interest in sports, participating in various athletic activities throughout their childhood. They attended Cleveland Heights High School, where their athletic prowess became evident. Jason excelled in both football and hockey, showcasing his versatility and determination. During their high school years, the Kelce brothers were standout athletes. Jason, playing as a linebacker and running back, earned All-Lake Erie League honors. His impressive performance on the field led to his recruitment by the University of Cincinnati, where he initially joined as a walk-on fullback before transitioning to the offensive line.
Travis, on the other hand, made significant contributions to his high school’s football and basketball teams. His athleticism and skill earned him a scholarship to the University of Cincinnati, where he joined his brother. At Cincinnati, Travis played as a tight end and developed a reputation for his playmaking abilities.
The Kelce brothers’ upbringing in Cleveland Heights, characterized by their parents’ support and their own dedication to sports, laid a strong foundation for their future careers in the NFL. Brothers Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce are on their way to becoming NFL legends. Travis is a record-breaking tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, and Jason was a fan-favorite center for the Philadelphia Eagles.
The brothers faced off in the Super Bowl for the first time on February 12, 2023, when the Philadelphia Eagles played the Kansas City Chiefs. Travis and the Chiefs won 38-35. After the game, Jason hugged his little brother and shared some encouraging words.
In November 2023, Travis and Jason’s teams faced off again during regular season play. The Eagles beat the Chiefs 21-17, a win they hadn’t achieved since 2009. Although Jason’s team was later knocked out of the playoffs, Travis’ Chiefs secured a spot in the Super Bowl after defeating the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship. Jason was there to cheer on Travis.
The Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl 2024, and Jason supported his younger brother again, which meant a lot to Travis.
In March 2024, Jason announced his retirement from football after 13 seasons in the NFL.
