Impact of INSPIRE Programme

The INSPIRE programme has been successful in reaching out to millions of students across the country and inspiring them to pursue science as a career option. According to the DST website, as of March 2021, the programme has:

  • Awarded more than 22 lakh students under SEATS
  • Awarded more than 1 lakh students under SHE
  • Awarded more than 12 thousand students under AORC
  • Awarded more than 4 lakh students under INSPIRE Awards-MANAK
  • Supported more than 2 thousand students under INSPIRE Internship

The programme has also resulted in several publications, patents, awards, recognitions, innovations, start-ups, etc. by the beneficiaries of the programme.

Innovation In Science Pursuit For Inspired Research (INSPIRE) Programme

Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) programme was launched by the Department of Science & Technology (DST) of India in 2008 to attract and nurture young bright students to study basic and natural sciences at the college and university level and to pursue research careers in both basic and applied science areas including engineering, medicine, agriculture and veterinary sciences. The programme is designed to identify talent among students and attract them towards studying science and scientific programmes that have an experimental vision.
