Family of Orange
Orange belongs to the family Rutaceae usually placed in the order Sapindales. Citrus is the family’s most economically important genus and comprises the citrus fruits orange (Citrus x sinensis), lemon (Citrus x limon), grapefruit (Citrus x paradisi), and lime (C. aurantifolia). The large Australian genus Boronia contains a number of plants with incredibly fragrant flowers that are utilized in the manufacture of commercial oils. Other important genera are Agathosma, Melicope, and Zanthoxylum, of which several species are grown for Sichuan pepper. In the family Rutaceae, there are about 160 genera.
