During the Interview
Introduction and Icebreakers:
- The open conversation may include a friendly greeting and a question about what brought you into the field of nursing.
Questions About Experience:
- Rehearse the questions about the functions you had in the past, the tasks given to you, and how you resolved the problems.
- Be ready to examine the patient’s situation, collaboration and problem-solving.
Behavioural and Situational Questions:
- These inquire about how you would handle particular situations. For example:
- “Recall a situation, when you had a disagreement or a conflict with a co-worker.”
- “Give an example of a difficult situation where you managed the patient and how you averted it.
Technical and Clinical Knowledge:
Along with the interview, you could be asked to demonstrate clinical skills, nursing competence, and knowledge related to the position. For example:
- “Tell us about your strategies for prioritizing tasks when your shift is busy?”
- “Tell me about your experience with working on electronic health records.”
Questions About Teamwork and Communication:
- Nursing involves collaboration. You are expected to be prepared to talk about your style of work regarding teamwork, communication, and patient/family interaction.
Questions for the Interviewer:
- In the end, don´t hesitate to ask about the team, opportunities for development, work environment, and so on. Such a behavior reveals you are paying attention and it is good for it.
