Applicants must hold one of the qualifications listed below, securing a minimum of 55 percent marks for General and OBC candidates, or 50 percent marks for Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates.
- Candidates pursuing or having completed MSc or equivalent degrees such as Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/BTech/BPharma/MBBS by the CSIR NET 2023 application deadline are eligible under the Result Awaited (RA) category.
- RA category applicants must fulfill the condition of completing their qualifying degree with the required percentage of marks within two years from the Joint CSIR UGC NET result declaration. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
- Individuals with a BSc (Hons) degree or enrolled in an integrated MS-PhD program, securing at least 55 percent marks (50 percent for SC/ST/PwD candidates), are eligible for the exam.
- Undergraduate degree holders are eligible for a CSIR fellowship only upon registration for a PhD/Integrated PhD course within two years.
- Candidates holding only a Bachelor’s degree qualify for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and not for Lectureship (LS)/Assistant Professor.
- For example, BE/BS/BTech/BPharma/MBBS final year or result-awaited candidates can apply for JRF exclusively.
- Those possessing a PhD and who completed their master’s before September 19, 1991, with at least 50 percent marks are eligible for lectureship.
