Rungrado 1st of May Stadium, Pynogyang was built in the years 1986-189 and opened on 1st May 1989. Previously it’s name was Rungrado May Stadium. Due to the fact that it was opened on 1st of May, it got it’s name. Moreover the significance of this name is that it was created to honour the workers of North Korea as 1st May is celebrated as International Workers Day.
