Activities under SVAMITVA Scheme
- By establishing the Continuous Operating Reference System (CORS), it is possible to gain real-time access to centimetre-level, long-range, high-accuracy network RTK corrections. A virtual base station is created by the CORS network of reference stations. The CORS network facilitates accurate ground-truthing, geo-referencing, and land delineation.
- Local planning will be improved by developing/maintaining a scheme dashboard and combining spatial data/maps from drone surveys with the ministry’s spatial planning application.
- Mapping at a vast scale using drones: To map the populated (Abadi) rural areas, the Survey of India will deploy a drone survey. It would create thorough maps to provide property rights and ownership.
- Based on these maps or data, rural homeowners would receive property cards.
- Organising regional and national workshops and keeping a record of best practices.
Svamitva Yojana
A central government project called SVAMITVA, which stands for Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas, aims to provide rural India with an integrated property validation solution. For the first time ever, a massive exercise employing the most cutting-edge drone technology is being conducted to the advantage of millions of rural property owners in every town across the nation. On April 24, 2020—National Panchayat Day—it was introduced.
