IIT Patna Admission Experience

Hello! I am thrilled to share my admission experience at IIT Patna, one of India’s premier institutes. After my JEE Advanced results were announced, I secured a rank of 5532, which was a moment of immense pride and relief. During the counselling process, I opted for IIT Patna, a decision that I am incredibly happy about.

Following my selection, I received an email from the college containing my roll number, an offer letter, the date for offline registration, and a link for online registration. The offline registration date was set for November 4, 2022. Excited and eager to begin this new chapter, I booked my tickets to Patna and started preparing for the transition.

During the interim period, I connected with various batchmates online who were also preparing for their admission. This interaction was immensely helpful as we shared our experiences and preparations. Additionally, I reached out to seniors from the institute. They were extremely kind and helpful, providing me with a comprehensive list of items to bring along and the necessary documentation required for admission.

The documents needed included:

• Class 10 and 12 mark sheets
• Transfer Certificate (TC)
• Migration Certificate
• Caste Certificate (if applicable)
• Fee payment receipt
• Income Certificate (in case of a fee waiver)
• Medical Certificate

I arrived on campus on November 4th, filled with excitement and a bit of nervousness. The first stop was the tutorial block for the registration process. Seniors were present to guide us through the process, ensuring everything went smoothly. Their assistance was invaluable, making the process efficient and less stressful.

After completing the registration, I headed to my allotted hostel room. I was assigned a room in one of the three boys’ hostels: Aryabhatta Hostel, APJ Kalam Hostel, and CV Raman Hostel. I took my time setting up the room, arranging my belongings, and making the space feel like home.

Following the move-in, we embarked on a three-day orientation program. This was an insightful experience where we were introduced to the campus, its facilities, and various clubs. The orientation covered everything from the vast sports facilities, including football and cricket grounds, basketball and volleyball courts, squash and badminton courts, a gymnasium, and a yoga room, to the various academic and cultural clubs.

We learned about the technical clubs like the Robotics Club, Trading and Investment Club, Entrepreneurial Cell, Technical Club, Finance Club, and Design Club. The cultural clubs included the Drama Club “Yavanika,” Music Club “Aria,” and Dance Club “Exousia.” We were also introduced to the major fests: the technical fest “Celesta,” the cultural fest “Anwesha,” and the sports fest “Infinito.”

Each club and fest had its own orientation session conducted by senior members. These sessions were not only informative but also incredibly motivating, as seniors shared their experiences and the various opportunities available within the clubs.

Additionally, we had an unofficial meet with our branch seniors. This was an invaluable session where they provided guidance on our academic journey, career paths, and tips for making the most of our time at IIT Patna. Their advice was practical and encouraging, helping to set a clear path forward.

After the orientation and settling-in period, regular classes commenced. The transition from high school to college was significant, but the structured environment and support from seniors and faculty made it manageable and exciting.

My admission experience at IIT Patna has been a whirlwind of new experiences, supportive interactions, and promising beginnings. The blend of academic rigor, vibrant campus life, and the warmth of the community here has made my transition smooth and fulfilling. I look forward to the journey ahead, filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences.
