How to Install python-dateutil on Linux?
The dateutil module provides many options to the standard datetime module, available in Python2 and Python3. Or we can say that it gives extensions to the DateTime module in Python. It provides computing of relative deltas like next month, next year, last week, etc. Its time zone information is based on Olsonâs database. Installing python-dateutil package on Linux using PIP
To install the python-dateutil package in Linux we have to follow the following steps:
Step 1: Install Python3 on Linux Machine using the following command in the terminal:
sudo apt-get install python3
Step 2: Now, install the pip module which is required to install and manage all the packages of Python3 using the following command:
sudo apt install python3-pip
Step 3: Now, install the python-dateutil package by using the following command.
sudo pip3 install python-dateutil
or
sudo apt-get install python3-dateutil
Verifying python-dateutil package installation on Linux using PIP
To verify if the python-dateutil package has been successfully installed in your system run the below command in Terminal:
python3 -m pip show python-dateutil
Youâll get the following message if the installation is completed successfully.
