AP EAPCET Exam Experience At Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University

Hey Readers!

I’m thrilled to share my wonderful AP EAPCET(Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test), Conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, KAKINADA on behalf of APSCHE, exam experience. The exam consists of 160 questions(80 Mathematics, 40 Physics, 40 Chemistry). All the questions are multiple-choice questions only. I went through various challenges and strategies in this rigorous examination.

Preparation Phase:

preparation for the AP EAPCET demanded a strategic and dedicated approach. Here are the steps and strategies I followed while preparing for the AP EAPCET.

It’s COVID time I don’t know about IITs and NITs and IIMs, I just know that after completing intermediate, we take the EAPCET exam and enter into the engineering college, Only this process I know, during COVID, I have a lot of time to prepare, but due to lack of awareness and not having an idea about the IIT’s, I didn’t prepare for JEE mains. I utilised my time only to prepare for the AP EAPCET. And also my college won’t provide any coaching for EAPCET. So I have to prepare on my own. So I started preparing by myself.

Resources I Used:

First I bought one handbook for EAPCET preparation which consists of all the previous year’s papers and their answers with explanations. Also, I followed some YouTube channels to prepare for the exam. I started solving each year’s paper every day without watching the solutions, if I stuck on any question then I solved that question with the solution provided by them.

Also, some YouTube channels provide shortcut tricks to crack the questions in less time. I searched for the best pdf online.

And followed some mock tests online.

Study strategies I followed:

I started with making a timetable that consisted of 6 to 8 hrs preparation 6 to 7 hrs sleep and one hour of revision. In the initial days, it became complex, but later I was stuck to it. While studying I take notes for shortcuts and key points which helped me to revise later.

After completing a particular topic, I take one exam on it to test my level of understanding.

I strongly believe that our study area creates an impact on us, so I organised my study area well.

I kept away from social media.

My experience on the day of the exam :

Firstly I was excited on the day of the exam.

I woke up early and revised everything in the notes which I had taken before for 3 hrs. Later I got ready for the exam, had some healthy breakfast, took my all stationary things needed for the exam and went to the examination hall. My exam was in the afternoon, but I went there and prepared for 3 hrs more, and finally, my exam and, I had taken small meal before going to the exam hall. I’m a little bit nervous. With that nervousness, I’m waiting with other students to enter the exam hall. Some verification and formalities happened. After all this, I went into the exam room. I found my seat and I’m just relaxed.

The exam started, and I carefully studied all the instructions before the exam. And started writing the exam, I wrote all the questions that took less time to complete, I marked the remaining questions to solve later, I took some time for those questions and almost I solved around 70 questions.

Few minutes remaining, and in that time I checked every question and then submitted it.

Challenges I faced during the exam and how I overcame them:

I’m nervous and stressed, so I take deep breaths and sit and relax to overcome these.

Some difficult and unexpected questions came in between which made me panic, So in this situation, I skipped them and returned to them. I followed eliminating the options technique. By eliminating some irrelevant options from the given options I put some correct answers.

Results day:

And finally, the results came. I got a 16k rank I didn’t expect that because I didn’t take any coaching from anywhere, I prepared by myself. So it becomes a great achievement for me.

Some of the things I realized after this experience were :

  1. Never take the cut-offs of any college seriously.
  2. Increase your speed and accuracy.
  3. Manage the time during the exam.
  4. Smart work is more important than hard work.
  5. Mock tests play a key role in preparing for the competitive exams.

Some tips that I can share :

  1. You should start your preparation as early as possible.
  2. Make time table.
  3. Revision is very very important, at least for a week revise what you learned.
  4. Prepare notes for what you learned.
  5. 6- 7 hours sleep is enough.
  6. While preparing take small breaks and relax or take a nap.
  7. Eat healthy food, otherwise, it may impact your brain.
  8. Believe in yourself.
  9. Stay positive.
