The Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FoET) at the University of Lucknow has been imparting quality engineering education since its re-establishment in 2017. With a vision to be globally renowned for pioneering interdisciplinary technology and artificial intelligence, FoET offers B.Tech. programs in five core engineering branches, along with BCA and MCA programs.

Through our experience at FoET, we aim to produce dynamic, competent engineering professionals and leaders who can steer the nation towards a better future. Establishment: The Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FoET) was re-established in 2017 as one of the faculties of the University of Lucknow, with a vision to be globally renowned for imparting quality engineering education in pioneering interdisciplinary technology.

Location: The FoET campus is located in the university’s second campus in Jankipuram extension, Lucknow, which boasts large green belts and initiatives for energy conservation and sustainable development.

Academic Programs:

  • B.Tech. Programs: Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
  • Other Programs: BCA and MCA.

Admissions: Admission to B.Tech. and MCA programs is through UPSEE, while BCA admission is as per University of Lucknow guidelines.

Student Intake

The faculty has an intake of 60 seats in each branch, except for Computer Science & Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering (AI) which has 120 seats available for admission.

While the university itself does not organize events like fresher’s parties or farewell parties, these celebrations are organized within the hostel communities, fostering a sense of camaraderie among students.

Council of Student Activities

  • FoET has established a Council of Student Activities to promote co-curricular and extra-curricular participation.
  • This council comprises five councils: Literary, Technical, Fine Arts, Cultural, and Sports.
  • Students are required to join at least two council activities, encouraging well-rounded development.

Earning General Proficiency (GP) Marks

  • Students can earn up to 50 marks as General Proficiency (GP) based on their performance and involvement in council activities.
  • This system incentivizes active participation and recognizes students’ efforts beyond academics.

Events and Clubs

The Vibrant Club Scene

As an engineering student at the University of Lucknow, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in a vibrant club scene that complemented my academic pursuits. The university fosters an environment that encourages students to explore their interests and passions beyond the classroom.

En-Lit Club

The Literary Club provided a platform for those with a penchant for the written word. Here, I indulged in activities like essay writing, poetry composition, memoir writing, creative writing, and blogging. The club’s events allowed me to hone my literary skills and express my thoughts and emotions through the power of language.

The Coding Club

At Lucknow University, the Coding Club is a vibrant community where students who love programming and tech come together. It’s more than just a place to code—it’s where we collaborate, learn, and grow. Through coding competitions, workshops, and hackathons, we improve our skills and make lasting friendships. It’s a supportive environment where everyone can explore their interests and work on cool projects, shaping the future of tech both on campus and beyond.

Google Developer Student Club (GDSC)

One of the highlights of my time at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology was the Google Developer Student Club (GDSC). This club, dedicated to fostering a community of aspiring developers, organized an informative session on August 26, 2023, from 7:00-8:15 PM in an online mode.

The event provided insights into the GDSC program, its mission, and objectives, as well as an exciting lineup of workshops, projects, and events for the upcoming semester. The GDSC organizers, including the GDSC Lead, Cloud Mentor, AI/ML Mentor, Web Dev Mentors, UI/UX Mentor, Open Source Mentor, App Dev Mentor, Cyber Security Mentor, Management Leads, and No code Mentor, were instrumental in creating a dynamic and engaging experience for all attendees.

As I reflect on my journey at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FoET), University of Lucknow, I am filled with a sense of pride and gratitude. The overall experience has been a transformative one, shaping me into a well-rounded individual ready to embrace the challenges of the professional world.

Placement Opportunities

One of the most significant aspects of my experience at FoET was the exposure to various placement opportunities. Companies like Wipro, Birla Groups, TCS, and Infosys regularly visit the campus for recruitment drives, offering lucrative job prospects. The highest package offered to our batch was an impressive ₹5,00,000, a testament to the university’s reputation and the quality of education it provides.

Holistic Growth

While academic excellence was undoubtedly a priority, FoET also fostered an environment that encouraged holistic growth. The diverse range of extracurricular activities, clubs, and societies allowed me to explore my interests, develop new skills, and forge lasting connections with like-minded individuals.
