Tesla Interview Experience

Round-1:

This round focused on aligning my skills and experience with the role and team at Tesla. It involved an in-depth discussion about the position, how my past experiences relate to it, and my perspective contributions. We delved into my career goals, the broader context of current projects, and the values Tesla looks for in its team members.

Round-2:

A technical session formed the crux of this round. I tackled questions on SQL, Python, and some basic Spark queries, demonstrating my coding skills through a live video call with an interviewer. Utilizing the full allotted time, I aimed not only to solve the problems but also to offer optimized solutions, demonstrating my comprehensive capabilities. This round was conducted using shared Google Sheets for collaborative problem-solving.

Round-3:

Another technical session on shared Google Sheets, accompanied by a parallel video call with the interviewer. This round’s emphasis was on data modelling and building architectures. Questions were generated on the spot as the conversation evolved. I was tasked with creating a data model for a new business initiative and, in the concluding part, responded to business queries related to my model.

Round-4:

This round allowed me to engage directly with the hiring manager. It tested my behavioural and technical skills, including some basics of Airflow and data structure and algorithm (DSA) problems. We discussed the team’s structure, ongoing projects, current challenges, and my potential role in addressing these. I also gained clarity on the team’s expectations of me as a new member.
