Suvidha Foundation (Suvidha Mahila Mandal) Internship Experience

Working as a Machine Learning Engineer in Suvidha Foundation (Suvidha Mahila Mandal):

I had the opportunity to work as a Machine Learning Engineer at Suvidha Foundation, a non-profit organization that empowers women through education, skill development, and entrepreneurship. Suvidha Foundation is also involved in various social and environmental projects that aim to improve the quality of life of marginalized communities.

During my internship, I worked on two deep-learning projects like:- machine Translation and Video Summarization. For the Machine Translation project, I’ve used a Transformer-based neural network model to translate text from Hindi to English and vice versa. I implemented the model using PyTorch and trained it on a large parallel corpus of Hindi and English sentences. I also evaluated the model’s performance using various metrics such as BLEU, METEOR, and TER. The model achieved state-of-the-art results and was able to handle complex linguistic phenomena such as word order, morphology, and idioms. For the Video Summarization project, I used a recurrent neural network model to generate concise and informative summaries of videos. I’ve used the YouTube-8M dataset, which contains millions of videos with rich annotations. I extracted visual and audio features from the videos using pre-trained models and fed them to the summarization model. I’ve also used attention mechanisms to select the most relevant frames and words for the summaries. The model produced coherent and diverse summaries that captured the main events and topics of the videos.

In addition to these projects, I’ve also contributed to the data collection of newspaper headlines for the News Prediction deep learning model. This model aims to predict future events and trends based on the current news. I collected and annotated headlines from various sources such as The Times of India, The Hindu, and Dainik Jagran. I also performed data cleaning, preprocessing, and analysis to ensure the quality and consistency of the data.

I’ve learned a lot from this internship and gained valuable experience in working with cutting-edge technologies and real-world problems. I’ve also improved my skills in research, coding, and communication. I was recognized as a Top performer in the batch and received positive feedback from my mentors and peers. I am grateful to the Suvidha Foundation for giving me this opportunity and supporting me throughout the internship.
