SPMVV Campus Experience

Sri Padmavati Women’s University (SPMVV) is located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. It was established in 1983 by N.T. Rama Rao with the aim of promoting higher education and development for women. The university emphasizes community engagement, student support services, and extracurricular activities, fostering a holistic educational environment.

As a third-year student at SPMVV, I would like to share my campus experience.

I am currently pursuing a B.Tech degree at this university. On my first day at the college, I was amazed by the beautiful surroundings. The campus is lush with trees and filled with the soothing sounds of birds, making it feel like a serene haven in the lap of nature.

After clearing the EAPCET exam, I gained admission to the CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) branch. The faculty members are highly educated and skilled in teaching. They provide thorough instruction from the basics to ensure better understanding for all students. One aspect I appreciate about the college is the mentoring system, where each class has a mentor assigned to every 22 students to support their professional and personal development.

SPMVV offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. The university provides excellent facilities that support the students’ personal and professional growth, such as hostels, libraries, a health center, an incubation center, and three auditoriums. As a CSE student, I have access to well-equipped computer labs with trained lab assistants and technicians. The university also has well-maintained laboratories for subjects like physics, chemistry, electrical, electronics, and engineering workshops.

The university campus is surrounded by greenery, and there is a park where I have created many cherished memories. It is a peaceful environment conducive to studying.

Living in the hostel was a new experience for me. Initially, I was a bit confused by the diverse accents of my roommates from different states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. However, we have now formed a strong bond and created wonderful memories together, both good and bad. The food in the hostel is also quite good, and the overall hostel experience is budget-friendly.

The university organizes both technical and non-technical events, offering various competitions where students can showcase their skills. In March and April, SPMVV conducted two national-level tech fests: Celestra 2k24 (for technical competitions) and Virinchi 2k24 (for non-technical events). I was fortunate to secure first prizes in Technical Charades at Celestra 2k24 and in clay modeling and second prize in rangoli at Virinchi 2k24. Last year, I also won second prize in the Coding Contest (Programmer’s Paradise) at Celestra 2k23. These events are open to students from any university.

SPMVV has strong industry connections, and product-based companies like Amazon actively recruit students from the college. The average package offered is around 4-5 LPA, with the highest package being 15 LPA.

In conclusion, I would advise maintaining a good CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) while also focusing on developing your skills from the first day of college. Utilize the well-equipped labs and manage your time effectively to make the most of your university experience.
