Sharda University Campus Experience For Btech CSE

I completed my graduation from Sharda University, where I pursued a B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. My college experience was a blend of highs and lows, particularly due to the pandemic. Although I missed a significant portion of the in-person curriculum, the time I did spend on campus was rich with new experiences and learning opportunities at every step.

About the Campus

Sharda University boasts a vast campus featuring various buildings with modern architecture. The campus includes solar-powered panels, state-of-the-art classrooms, high-tech laboratories, an impressive seminar hall with ample seating, a large library, a dedicated placement cell, and an innovation cell. Additionally, the campus offers a variety of food joints such as Uncle’s Cafe, CCD, and Maggi Point.

First-Year Experience

My first year was almost entirely offline, allowing me to make new acquaintances and meet people from diverse nationalities. Every day presented an opportunity to learn something new, especially in subjects related to my curriculum. I developed a keen interest in AI and content writing, leading me to join the college’s Google Developer Students Club. This membership expanded my knowledge and allowed me to teach various concepts to others. The teachers were very supportive, simplifying even the most difficult subjects. Regular lab sessions emphasized practical knowledge alongside theoretical classes.

Second and Third-Year Experience

Due to the pandemic, the second and third years were mostly conducted online. Initially, this transition was challenging for both students and teachers. However, we gradually adapted, making online learning both enjoyable and enriching. Exams were held in both offline and online modes, accommodating students from different states. Each subject included mid-term and end-term exams, along with vivas and lab exams to assess our understanding comprehensively.

Final Year Experience

In the final year, classes returned to offline mode, giving us another chance to reunite with friends and resume pre-pandemic life. As it was placement season, there was a lot of anxiety among the final-year students. Teachers and mentors played a crucial role in preparing us for placements and providing training programs and guidance. The last semester was primarily focused on placement preparations, with students excused from classes to attend training and internship programs. A boot camp was organized to train us for placements and interviews. I was thrilled to secure a placement in the final semester, ending my college journey on a high note.

Overall Impression

Sharda University offers excellent infrastructure and technology. However, I believe there is room for improvement in the placement process and the incorporation of more practical knowledge into the curriculum.
