Program to convert Java Set of Strings to a String in Scala
A java Set of Strings can be converted to a String in Scala by utilizing toString method of Java in Scala. Here, we need to import Scala’s JavaConversions object in order to make this conversions work.
Now, lets see some examples and then discuss how it works in details.
Example:1#
// Scala program to convert Java set // to a String in Scala // Importing Scala's JavaConversions object import scala.collection.JavaConversions. _ // Creating object object GfG { // Main method def main(args : Array[String]) { // Creating set of Strings in Java val set = new java.util.HashSet[String]() // Adding Strings to the set set.add( "Beginner" ) set.add( "for" ) set.add( "Beginner" ) // Converting set to a String val str = set.toString // Displays output println(str) } } |
Output:
[Beginner, for]
Here, the duplicate elements are eliminated and the resultant order of the elements in set is same as stated above.
Example:2#
// Scala program to convert Java set // to a String in Scala // Importing Scala's JavaConversions object import scala.collection.JavaConversions. _ // Creating object object GfG { // Main method def main(args : Array[String]) { // Creating set of Strings in Java val set = new java.util.HashSet[String]() // Adding Strings to the set set.add( "I" ) set.add( "am an" ) set.add( "author" ) // Converting set to a String val str = set.toString // Displays output println(str) } } |
Output:
[author, I, am an]
Here, in the resultant output the strings of more length are displayed first and the strings with more words are displayed at last.
