NEET 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has finally announced the exam date for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. The NEET 2024 (UG) exam will be held on 5th May 2024. It is a national-level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses, along with AYUSH and nursing courses in some states.
The NEET exam is conducted in pen-and-paper mode and the allotted time duration is 3 hours and 20 minutes. It consists of 200 multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Students who are planning to appear for NEET 2024 are advised to start preparing well before time. The NTA has released the official syllabus and exam pattern for the NEET UG exam on its website.

NEET Eligibility Criteria 2024
The candidates who wish to apply and appear for NEET 2024 examination have to fulfill the basic eligibility criteria. The eligibility is prescribed by the NTA and comprises of few important parameters on the basis of which a candidates’ eligibility is ascertained. The parameters are age limit, educational qualification, domicile etc.
NEET 2024 Age Limit
Before moving on to the online application process, it is very important for the applicants to be well aware of the permissible age limit. Candidates need to be well within this NEET 2024 age limit while applying for the exam. The minimum age limit to apply for NEET UG examination is 17 years as on 31st December. There is no upper age limit prescribed for writing the exam.
Educational Qualification
The candidates who have appeared or qualified for class 12th exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) as main subjects from a recognised board will be called to appear for the NEET 2024 examination.
Domicile
The candidate who is a citizen of India will be considered for the NEET exam. The state domicile will be applicable for candidates who are applying for admission to 85% state quota seats.
Minimum Qualifying Marks
As per the NEET eligibility criteria 2024, the minimum qualifying marks in class 12th exam is 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. Whereas, the minimum marks for SC/ST category is 40% of the total marks secured in class 12th.

NEET 2024 Application Process
NEET 2024 application form will be released tentatively in March 2024. The application form filling is a five step process and has to be completed within the prescribed time. The candidates have to complete all the steps to ensure it is accepted by the competent authorities. Know all the steps of the application process for NEET UG 2024 exam in the section below.
Step 1: Visit the official website of NTA- neetnta.ac.in
Step 2: Find and click on the NEET application form 2024.
Step 3: Enter all the important details along with the security pin on the application form like candidate’s name, date of birth, father’s name, gender, educational qualification, email id. Choose a password following all the guidelines.
Step 4: Next, enter personal details, Aadhaar details followed by the exam center options. Upload all the documents in the scanned format within the prescribed limit.
Step 5: Cross verify all the documents and details and pay the online application fee using Debit card/Credit card and print a receipt of your payment slip.
Step 6: Finally, take a print out of the NEET 2024 application form and then save it on the device for reference.
Documents Required for NEET 2024 Application Form
When filling the NEET application form, the candidates have to keep certain documents in hand. The candidates have to use the details mentioned on the documents to fill their application form. NEET Exam Pattern
The NEET exam pattern 2024 comprises 2 sections in each of the four subjects – Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Physics. The exam carries a total of 720 marks. The remaining details are as follows:
- NEET exam is going to be an offline test and will be held in the pen and paper mode
- The candidates have to choose the correct option from the available options
- The NEET 2024 exam will be held in English, Hindi and 13 other regional languages
- As per the exam pattern, there will be 200 questions from three subjects, Physics, Biology and Chemistry.
- There will be 50 questions from Physics and Chemistry and 100 questions from Biology
- All the questions in the NEET exam, will be multiple choice and numerical based
- 4 marks will be allotted for every correct answer
- For every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted by the agency

NEET 2024 Answer Key
NEET answer key will be released by the National Testing Agency very soon on the official website. The candidates appearing in the exam have to download the NEET answer key with OMR sheet to calculate the marks secured in the examination. The NEET answer key 2024 will be released in PDF format along with the response sheet atleast 15 to 20 days after the exam is over.
Post download, the candidates have to use the prescribed marking scheme to know about the marks secured in the NEET 2024 examination. Also, if candidates find any error or issue in the answer key then an objection can be raised against the same for correction.
NEET Result 2024
NEET 2024 result will be available in the PDF format on the NTA’s official website. The candidates have to download the result and score card using the registration number and password. Additionally, it will comprise of the candidate’s name, subject code, section wise marks scored along with total marks and NEET AIR (All India Rank). Candidates who secure a high AIR in the NEET exam 2024 will be considered for counselling round.
NEET Admit Card 2024
The National Testing Agency announces the NEET admit card and city intimation link. The candidates who are eligible are offered the admit card for the NEET examination. The admit card is available in the PDF format on the official website of the NTA. Candidates have to download the admit card using their credentials and security pin. It comprises of details like candidate’s name, roll number, registration number, exam center and other instructions.
