My Journey As An Artistic Engineering Student

Since my childhood, I’ve played more with colours, pencils, drawing books, and erasers. I love to draw portraits, sketches, and freehand drawings. In my school days, I always came first in drawing competitions. I have received appreciation from the leaders of my town. But whenever I used to show my artwork to the elders, the one question was confirmed, and that was, do you want to continue your passion as your profession also? and I don’t have any accurate answers for this one because, as I’ve heard from my teachers, there is no career in art as it requires more investment.

So I decided to continue it as my passion. In addition to art, I excelled in academics. I secured first rank in the 10th SSC boards, and from this, my parents’ expectations went high. After searching a lot and asking many people for career guidance, I decided to prepare for the IIT-JEE examinations. Because after graduating from IIT institutes, the salary packages are high. For two years, I worked so hard to get into IIT.

In that period, I had not even touched my art stationary. I’ve cracked JEE Mains but failed in Advanced, and I’ve lost my seat in IIT. I didn’t have the energy to prepare again for one more year because somewhere I felt guilty for what I was doing. So I decided to focus on the MHCET examination, which is for engineering admissions within the respective state. Finally, I secured 93% in this examination and was admitted to an engineering college.

Currently, I am in my second year of computer engineering, and with this, I am handling my art account on social media platforms. In my first year, I was not that updated about recent technologies, innovations, and projects. In my second year, I joined a coding club at my college, and that was the turning point. My progress speed doubled because of this club. I’ve built a strong network with the seniors, who are damn passionate in their respective fields. In this club, my seniors conducted sessions for junior members to make us familiar with the trending programming languages, resume building, and domains. I have asked them every doubt to them, and they have supported me every time. This was the true benefit of joining the club.

Now, I am proficient in MERN stack development. I have a strong command of Java and Python, and I am doing great in design as well. I was regretting why I chose engineering, but now I am happy with what I have chosen. My art will always be my identity, and I will always try to improve it. Once the decision is taken, don’t regret it, just fight.
