My journey as a student from DPS to IIT BHU

My journey toward IIT started when I was studying in Delhi Public School, Gaya, Bihar, during the 11th grade. That’s when I began preparing seriously for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) at Vidyamandir Classes. However, everything changed when the global pandemic hit, and life came to a standstill. Suddenly, I had to switch to online learning, which was tough for me because I easily got distracted and preferred to spend less time on screens. Despite these challenges, I embraced online resources like YouTube to help me study. Despite the difficulties, I managed to qualify for JEE and secured a place at IIT BHU.

My first year at IIT was fully online, and to be honest, I didn’t enjoy the online classes, as I mentioned earlier. Despite this, I tried attending the classes but struggled to stay focused. Instead, I participated in fun activities like painting competitions and quizzes and joined the robotics club.

When the college reopened, and I entered my second year, everything changed dramatically. I was completely new to the campus culture and environment (I even used to forget where my classes were held!). Adjusting to new roommates and the mess food was quite challenging initially. However, it took only a short time before I made many friends, some genuine and others not so much.

My second year was spent exploring different opportunities. I left the robotics club and joined the videography club, where I learned how to create visually appealing videos and improve my acting skills. Additionally, I was part of the marketing team for Jagriti, a social fest aimed at uplifting the weaker sections of society. The rest of my time was occupied with exams and assignments as the year flew by in a whirlwind of activities and learning experiences.

As my third year begins, I’m gearing up for an internship I secured just yesterday (May 10, 2024). During the break between my second and third year, our seniors taught and prepared us for internships. The third year focused on preparing for placements and improving my CGPA.

In addition to academic preparations, I had the opportunity to organize a successful cricket tournament in collaboration with the Chemical Engineering Society. Aside from its relevance in terms of placement opportunities, this event was a significant cultural activity for me. I am still actively preparing for upcoming placement interviews while balancing my academic commitments. The journey continues, filled with challenges and exciting prospects for the future.

In conclusion, whether you’re at an IIT or any other institution, life ultimately depends on how you perceive it. Everything is a matter of perspective. By staying calm, focused, and consistent in your efforts, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, cherish every experience, and remember that success is within reach with the right mindset and determination. Keep striving towards your goals and believe in your ability to achieve greatness.
