Manit Campus Experience

The campus of MANIT Bhopal spans 650 acres and boasts a variety of facilities such as a library, dispensary, post office, Student Activity Center (SAC), and academic & administrative buildings. Although MANIT generally has decent placement records, this year’s placements have been affected by the recession.

I was admitted to the BTech CSE course at MANIT. For first-year students, there are time restrictions in the hostels. The first-year classes are conducted at the Learning Resource Centre (LRC), with some labs located in specific departments. The first year is relatively light in terms of workload. Students from all departments study together, as they are equally divided into 10 sections.

As the first year concludes, societies at MANIT begin their recruitment process, providing students with the opportunity to become society members. From the second year onwards, students attend classes at their respective departments. All the teachers are qualified, and the labs are in decent condition. However, the workload increases in the second year.

In the third year, students have the opportunity to secure on-campus internships. Many companies visit MANIT for internships and placements. In the fourth year, there are also opportunities for on-campus placements. Along with this, there’s a major project in the fourth year.

MANIT hosts two main fests: Technosearch and Maffick. Technosearch, the technical fest of MANIT, usually takes place in October/November. As it’s a tech fest, many societies hold their tech events during Technosearch. Maffick is a cultural fest featuring many cultural events like dance competitions. In addition to these, all societies at MANIT hold events throughout the year. Thus, the entire year is filled with events, alongside the regular college exams.
