What is the MahaDBT Scholarship

MahaDBT scholarship is a short form of Maharashtra Direct Benefit Transfer Scholarship. It is formerly known as the Aaple Sarkar MahaDBT Scholarship. It is a kind of scholarship that gives financial aid to economically weaker section students. Under this, the selected candidates will get financial support from the government of the Maharashtra state. All the selected candidates will get financial help based on their tuition fee/admission fee and maintenance allowance. The MahaDBT portal hosts around 45 scholarships for students those are belonging to Maharashtra. This scholarship ranges between INR 100 to INR 25,000, depending upon the type of scholarship and the eligibility criteria of the applicant.

MahaDBT portal is also used in Mahadbt Farmer and Pension schemes for their direct benefit transfer.

The candidates those are eligible for the MahaDBT Scholarship, have to keep this following documents –

Online Application Process of MahaDBT Scholarship

The candidates can apply for the mahaDBT scholarship through the Aaple Sarkar DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) portal. This platform is run by the Government of Maharashtra for its citizens to help them financial benefits of different schemes available on it. The applicants are advised to read the instructions carefully before applying.

To apply for the MahaDBT scholarships, you have to follow the following steps –

Step 1: You have to visit the official website of MahaDBT portal.

Step 2: Click on Post Matric Scholarship, and choose a scholarship that you are eligible for.

Step 3: Click on ‘New Applicant Registration’ button and provide the required information such as e-mail ID and mobile number for registration. Both email id and mobile number verification are mandatory.

Step 4: Verify your email Id and Mobile number by submitting OTP.

Step 5: Once registration is completed successfully, you have to log in by using the registered email ID and password.

Step 6: On the next page, you have to provide the Aadhaar number and then proceed.

Step 7: Applicants are required to authenticate their Aadhaar number in the following two ways.

  • OTP– If your mobile number is registered with Aadhaar, then you can authenticate by selecting OTP.
  • Biometric– If your mobile number is not registered with Aadhaar, you have to choose the Biometric authentication.

Step 8: On the dashboard, the available scholarships are listed there. You have to choose the one and click on ‘Apply’ button.

Step 9: Fill the form by providing all necessary information.

Step 10: Once the profile is updated, you can go to the ‘All Schemes’ section and search for the scholarship in which you are eligible for under the departments in the mahaDBT portal.

Step 11: Now fill the application by providing all necessary details and upload all supporting documents (if not already uploaded).

Step 12: Finally, submit the application.

Open Merit Scholarships in Junior College

For students in class 11th and 12th:

  • The hosteler boys will receive a scholarship amount of INR 140 per month for 10 months.
  • The non-hosteler boys will receive INR 80 per month for 10 months.

Eligibility Criteria of MahaDBT Scholarship

  1. The applicant must be belonging to the state Maharashtra.
  2. Minimum 60% marks needed in Classes 10 and 12.
