Chief Ministers of Haryana
Haryana was a part of the Maratha Empire after the Mughals. Following the 1803 Surji-Anjangaon Treaty, the British Empire acquired Haryana, which subsequently amalgamated with the North West Provinces. Following the uprising in 1857, Punjab Province and Haryana—then known as Delhi Territory—were combined in April 1858.
From 1858 to 1947, while Britain was still a colony, it was governed as an element of the province of Punjab. In 1966, it was given its own administrative state inside India. The combined capital of Haryana and the Punjab is Chandigarh.
Ten chief ministers have served as chief minister of Haryana since 1966, beginning with Bhagwat Dayal Sharma of the INC Party and ending with Manohar Lal Khattar, the BJP Party’s current chief minister, who assumed office in 2014.
