Example 1: A customer buys 2 burgers every day. How many burgers will the customer buy in 7 days?
Solution:
A customer buys 2 burgers every day.
Therefore, total burger the customer will buy in 7 days is 2 × 7 = 14 burgers
Example 2: Aryan jogs 3 km per day. Find how many km does he jog in 3 days.
Solution:
Aryan jogs 3 km per day.
In 3 days, Aryan will jog = 3 × 3 = 9 km
Example 3: If Karan eats 4 pizzas per day, then using the table of 4 calculate how many pizzas does he eat in 5 days?
Solution:
Karan eats 4 pizzas per day.
Total pizzas he eats in 5 days = 4 × 5 = 20 pizzas
Example 4: Using the table of 8 simplify 8 times 7 minus 8 times 4.
Solution:
By studying tables we know that,
8 times 7 = 8 × 7 = 56
8 times 4 = 8 × 4 = 32
Now,
8 times 7 minus 8 times 4
= 8 × 7 – 8 × 4
= 56 – 32
= 14
