Significance of VIBGYOR in Rainbow Colors
The wavelength of a rainbow color is the distance between successive electromagnetic or sound wave crests or troughs. Each rainbow color has a unique wavelength, resulting in the wide range of colors seen.
7 Colours of the Rainbow – VIBGYOR
7 Colors of the Rainbow: A rainbow is a multi-colored curve that emerges in the heavens following rainfall. It materializes due to the interaction of sunlight and water droplets, involving both reflection and refraction. When sunlight traverses through raindrops or water particles, the light undergoes refraction, and the droplets reflect it from their surfaces. Consequently, the light refracts at varying angles, leading to the manifestation of distinct colors. The different colors we perceive within a rainbow result from the differing wavelengths of light. As light undergoes refraction across multiple angles, these angles collectively give rise to different wavelengths, thereby producing an array of rainbow colors.
